My friend has an Autistic child and is looking to find a dog to buy that is specifically trained?

  • I have heard of organizations that train dogs to live with autistic children. Can any one recommend a group/company/organization/charity that will either train your own puppy or assign the child a dog to work with. They live in Surrey, UK so would need to be with in driving / local - ish distance? any advice would be great.

    These dogs aren't readily available. You need to do fundraisers and donate 12,000 or so dollars in order to get one. This covers training and cost for the dog. There are ways that organizations help you to raise the money and most people can do it fairly quickly. As far as being driving distance from Surrey UK idk about that. Dogs are shipped worldwide on planes. This above site may have information to getting an autistic service dog that is closer to home idk.

    I do not have 1 of these dogs but have corresponded with 2 people who do.

  • i have heard a lot in dogs that are trained for people with autisom so keep looking on the net and asking around it will help your friend, child a lot


  • I have an autistic child, and we are looking into getting a dog for her. I havent had much luck, but a friend of mine told me to google it, and so thats what I plan on doing. She use to work with autistic children, but they never got any information about any resources about things like that. Im actually going to talk to her doctor to see if they have any information, she only goes to the autism center every 4 months, but Im calling her doctor today. I know what its like hitting dead ends... Best wishes


  • The only place than i know where train dogs is in the army or in the police.But you can find it in Montana.
