What is the purpose for a primer underneath your make-up?

  • Primer helps powder and other kinds of make up stay on longer. Primer also brightens up color when used on the eyes under eyeshadow, and allows you to put less makeup on in the first place and have to fix it less often.

    And as far as I know, it isn't bad for your skin.

    I only use primer on my eyes under eyeshadow and I don't even buy expensive stuff - I use plain old chapstick. Keep a seperate chapstick with no color or flavor with your makeup stuff and put a light layer on before you put your eyeshadow on - it makes life SO much easier!
