Does Sony manufacture PSPs in China?

  • Hi. Just wondering if Sony really manufactures PSPs in China. I know they make 'em in Japan and the US, but I'm not sure about China.

    So is a "made in China" PSP authentic -- or at least, *possibly* authentic -- or simply a downright knockoff? Thanks.


  • There are dozens of companies which manufacture their stuff in China.

    As long as you don't buy it from chinese people with open stalls, it should be authentic.


  • Sony has started manufacturing PSPs in China since 2004. The work force in China is much cheaper and the working efficience is much higher, therefore, Sony has moved their main manufacturing line to China.

  • Well tbh it depends on what country you buy the psp for. For example, the UK one is made in japan and us, whereas the european one is made in china. So i guess it might be due to the fact its for europe or something. Anyway i suggest buying an official one from the country from a retail shop due to the fact i brought a psp while out in tenerife, not realising it was a european we bought games back in the UK and they werent compatible,
