Romeo and Juliet ---> Please help!?

Wednesday Mar 17, 2010
  • My writing topic is "to show how romeo and juliet and tybalt act as negative role models". Even if you think they weren't negative role models, can you please help me to find examples/supporting details from the play that show a sense of being negative role models. Any quotations would be helpful as well.

And also, how would you describe a positive role model, and what makes romeo and juliet NOT one.

    thanks everyone !

  • well, a positive role model would be someone who makes decisions and actions that positivly influence the lives of those who look up to them, such as someone older turning down drugs or ciggarettes in front of a child, or stressing the importance of school and education to a student.

By committing suicide, and tybalt commiting murder( mercutio), all three show those that life is not valuable, and that it is ok to take anothers or even your own life.

I dont see there actions as making them negative role models, but i can understand how somene could interpert their actions as those of a negative role model.
