I'm looking for historical data on the New York Stock Exchanges Weekly
Advance Declines
Thanks for the prompt response. I shall return.
I will start doing research on your question. In the meantime,
perhaps you can clarify: How far back do you need this data?
The Volume I do not need. The A/D/UN sounds fine. My first time Whats next? THANKS
Hello kidcandle-ga,
It can be confusing to know what happens next on Google Answers after
you have engaged in some conversation with a Researcher. Basically,
in this situation, if you have indicated that an answer would be
acceptable, the Researcher will post an answer. Subsequently, you can
ask for clarification if the answer is unclear, incomplete, or
incorrect, otherwise rate the answer.
These guides explain what happens and what you can do after you ask a
question:

Now, for the main answer to your question:
The IDX Database, offered by Pinnacle Data Corp., contains twelve
groups of data, available individually for $49.00. The one you would
need is entitled W3 Weekly Breadth For NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, and is the
second-to-last data group listed on this page. It contains the
numbers of advancing, declining, and unchanged issues for the NYSE,
among other data. As noted previously, the data goes back to 1/9/81.

You can order this data group through one of the methods listed on the
following page:

I hope that the information I have provided is helpful.

Search terms used on Google:
historical nyse "advancing issues" "declining issues"
[I tried several other searches as well, but this search led me to the
IDX database.]
The weekly data set I have found includes advances, declines, and
unchanged (the three pieces of data that I assumed from your question
you were most interested in), but not total traded. Total volume is
listed in the daily data set that goes back to 1965.
Would this weekly data set, perhaps along with the daily data set,
suffice as an answer?
So far, I have found a data set that includes weekly advances and
declines on the New York Stock Exchange back to January 9, 1981, as
well as a data set that includes daily advances and declines back to
March 1, 1965. Each data set is available for $49. Would this be a
sufficient answer?
I,m only interested in the weekly numbers, back to 1981 is ok Please
advise if they include Ad/DEC/UNCHANGED/TOTAL TRADED THANK YOU
