George ?Red? Hamilton. I need as many names as possible. The trial
took place in Williamsport, PA in 1986. The judge was Malcolm Muir and
the lawyers involved were (Prosecution) James West and (defense) Paul
J. Killion. Both currently operate out of Harrisburg PA.
Background on Budd Dwyer:
This site does a decent job of providing basic information pertaining
to the Dwyer case.

Thank You.
Glad to have helped.
Thanks for the stars....much appreciated. I'll keep an eye out for
future questions on this topic.

Thanks.
A search on George 'Red" Hamilton certainly turns up quite a few hits
on his career as a golfer. But I did not find any regarding the
trial.
That leaves me in the same position as the other day, having found the
names of only three jurors.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed at this point.

Possibly, none of the above!
Sorry about the varying spellings. When I rechecked the article --
the image is a bit grainy -- the name seems to read Weldow. However,
there's also a possibility that it's Weidow.
Definitely NOT Weldrow, though.

Fast and effective. This was my first Google answer experience and I'm
hooked. If you're interested I'll be posting more Budd Dwyer related
questions soon. Thanks for all your help!
The name George Hamilton was found on a photocopy of another article.
Sadly most of the article is not visible. I believe the article was
written by David Morris for a Pennsylvania based paper. The article
reads:
?George ?Red? Hamilton, a retired golf professional, who served on the jury said??
I think this is the David Morris that wrote the article, I?m not sure
if this helps.

The three names will do, thanks for your help!
From what I can gather from old newspaper accounts, the jury in this
case was not very talkative to the press.
I've identified the names of only three of the jurors -- I'm not sure
the other names are available, as only one juror really had any
statements to make to the press.
I did NOT see the name of George "Red" Hamilton. It would be a help
to my research to know how and where you came across this one
name...knowing the source may lead to other names as well.
Let me know what you can. But for now, the best I can do is the three
names that I turned up.

Unfortunately, Google Answers Researchers may not provide contact
information for living individuals. So any answer would consist of the
names only.

The only name I have is George Hamilton. I need the names and contact
information for any of the other jurors.
jdfilms-ga,
Hello again, and thanks for getting back to me.
I searched several newspaper databases for information about the
trial. Given the sensational nature of events, there was certainly no
shortage of information....not much on the jury itself, however.
A number of articles noted that the jury make-up was eight women and
four men, but very little additional information about the jury was
available.
A few names were mentioned, however. These were:
Carolyn Edwards of Williamsport
Dennis D. Weldrow of Montgomery
Deborah Wasson (no town mentioned)
Here are excertps from the actual articles:
==========
The Daily Intelligencer
Doylestown, PA
November 9, 1986
pg A-15
Courtroom Injury Halts Jury Selection
"...One juror selected Friday, Carolyn Edwards of Williamsport, had
been rejected Thursday by West..."
[NOTE: the defense had objected to a pattern of rejecting
"intelligent" jurors, and Edwards, who has a Masters in Psychology,
was reinstated by mutual consent]
...Selected as the eleventh juror was Dennis D. Weldow of Montgomery,
Lycoming County.
==========
The Gettysburg Times
December 19, 1986
pg 1
Asher, Dwyer guilty in probe
"...Two jurors, Carolyn Edwards and Deborah Wasson, said they believed
Smith, who did legal work for CTA..."
==========
I trust this information fully answers your question (within the
limits of the available information, anyway).
However, please do not rate this answer until you have everything you
need. If there's anything else I can do for you, just post a Request
for Clarification to let me know.
All the best,
pafalafa-ga
It was Weidow, thanks for clearing that up!
Thanks for your help. Could you clarify the last name of the second
juror you listed? Is it Weldrow or Weldow?
First let me just point out that the first half of my question was cut
off for some unknown reason. The question should read:
?I am looking for the names of the individuals that served on the jury
during the trial of former Pennsylvania state treasure R.Budd Dwyer. I
have only been able to find one juror, George ?Red? Hamilton. I need
to locate as many jurors as I can. The trial took place in
Williamsport, PA in 1986. The judge was Malcolm Muir and the lawyers
involved were (Prosecution) James West and (defense) Paul J. Killion.
Both currently operate out of Harrisburg PA.

Thank You.?
In response to the comment, providing only names is acceptable. Also,
if you need any additional information in regards to the case or trial
just let me know.
