Need help with just one sentence

Tuesday Mar 16, 2010
  • I don't understand this sentence very well:
    「ちなみに私はやりたいことはいっぱいありすぎてとり あえずバンドからって感じかな.」
    I can kind of comprehend some of it... :relief:
    "By the way there are so many (too many?) things I want to do and...??"
    But then I'm still doubting the entire thing.

    Can anyone help? :bluush:

  • 「ちなみに私はやりたいことはいっぱいありすぎてとり あえずバンドからって感じかな.」

    ちなみに = by the way,

    私は = you already know this

    やりたいこと = things I enjoy doing

    いっぱい= many, a lot

    aru = there are

    ありすぎ[ru] = there are too many

    とりあえず = first of all

    バンドから = the band, to start with

    って感じかな = somewhat uncertain way of saying "it is". 感じ = feeling

  • oh, I see! thanks a lot! :cool:

  • って感じかな

    This is colloquial pay dirt. Underline it in your notes. :)

  • This is a tricky phrase to translate since there are a couple very "Japanesey" words in there. In short what she is trying to say is that she has so many things she want to do and that she'll get started on all those things she wants to do by working with the band.
