2 10x20 backdrops (black, white)
My wall is 8ft tall, and about 10ft wide. I am able to screw things into the wall if necessary, and I am certainly up for a project.
Requirement:
Be able to switch between black/white rather quickly
Any suggestions?
and a bunch of shower curtain rings, than put both backdrops up, and slide back and forth to change them.
It might be a pain to put lots of holes and grommets in the backdrops, but at the restaurant where I work, be put up a large curtain to draw in front of the buffet, so while the band is playing the kitchen can shut down the buffet from the other side. We used rings with little clips that clipped to the curtain, to avoid putting in grommets.
The clips are like ID badge clips, like the ones with the ring on the top.

I'm not sure where we got them , In sure it was local, and knowing my boss I'm sure it was cheap. They hold surprisingly strong if you slide from the rings rather than the curtain.
I would buy a piece of electrical conduit and 2 utility hooks (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.homedepot.ca/wcsstore/HomeDepotCanada/images/catalog/8aacac53-22ca-4d1c-902d-c5286c82c819_4.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView%3FD%3D1%26Dx%3Dmode%2Bmatc hall%26Ntk%3Dlevel1%26langId%3D-15%26catNav%3D3%26storeId%3D10051%26Ntx%3Dmode%2Bm atchall%26N%3D113274%26catalogId%3D10051%26Nty%3D1 %26viewall%3D1&h=400&w=400&sz=25&hl=en&start=113&um=1&tbnid=T0PjLow4caVQ8M:&tbnh=124&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dutility%2Bladder%2Bhooks%26start%3D10 5%26ndsp%3D21%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa %3DN) (4" handy hook) from a local hardware store. $10.00 tops!

Or you could put some grommets in the fabric and some nails in the wall to hang them from.
