FC Bayern - Arminia Bielefeld [R] Pre/Post Match

  • Any thoughts? A team we defeat easily? regardless a much needed win and confidence booster going into the Champions League


  • Bayern is eager to win this game after last leverkusen disaster. Next Wednesday we will go to Isreal for Championship. Of course we want to beat Bielefeld to set a good beginning for our championship journey this season. Also we can see bayern player(Ballack,Deisler,Kahn,Flins...) did quite well in the match versus Brazil. So I think they will win. The score will be 2:0 :) :) :) :)

    The performance is not convincingly for a home game. Hashermian still had no luck today as he missed out some good chances.

    I'm really afraid that we will have a bad game against Tel Aviv which is a must win for us to put pressure on Ajax, Juve.

    now, all 3 strikers are injured leaving BM a tough situation to find a solution on the attacking respect.

    I guess Magath will field out a 4 5 1 formation in the game next week.


  • I don't think thats it. Bayern also rely on the midfield to do way too much and score all the goals because Makaay is the only reliable striker. What Bayern needs now is another solid striker that can start along Makaay every game and score just as he did last season. Then can the midfield concentrate and working with itself and the strikers to combine for maximum results.

  • I also think, Magath will begin with a 4-5-1-formation but Pizarro is nearly fit. When Bayern doesn't score, then Pizarro will play instead of a midfield-player.

    I agree with you that Makaay partnering with another solid striker will make a good combination up front. However, back in the days, the Bayern midfield used to be decisive. Eventhough Elber used to score many goals, Effenberg, Jeremies and Scholl used to bag in decisive goals. The idea here is that you do not want to rely entirely on your strikers in a team that has Ballack and Deisler just roaming in the midfield. You want an unpredictable Bayern where if strikers are having an off day, the midfielders can offer good surprises to the opponent. As long as there is someone to provide the necessary cover to the defenders and do the dirty work, then I think this Bayern team would be top notch with each striker capable of making a difference, and occasionally the midfielders.


  • This should be an easy victory for Bayern, in my opinion Arminia are the worst team in the Bundesliga this year. Also, we ll see whether the extra training that Magath has forced the team into in the recent weeks will pay off with a good result.

    I would think so, but I'm starting to get the feeling that Bayern might be relying too much on Makaay for goals. There is a talented midfield, and at least 1 of them is capable of scoring in every match. I would say Bayern should train those talented midfielders to understand each other and start banging in those goals we all want.

    You don't think Bayern's midfield is capable of scoring? Ballack scores all the time, Deisler gets in on the action when he is in good form. Another one might help though....

  • They have had a lot of time to think about the Leverkusen disaster, so I would expect for them to really play aggressive and pur it on Bielefeld.
