I'm looking to build a tool that makes it easier for writers to collect comments on their work. Jack Slocum's blog comment mechanism is very close to what I want to do. The only difference being that I want comments associated with the region so that comments can be used for copyediting of a few words (i.e. wrong tense) or refer to many paragraphs if the comment is more global in nature (i.e. hero is acting way out of character. She should not be using anachronistic weapons)

are there any references to Jack's comment code or do I need to dig through the raw code on the blog?
