Parolees in Florida

  • When was Bruce Kimball, the Olympic diver, released from prison in Florida?

  • You unfortunately can't follow the link that robertskelton-ga provided, because the Florida Department of Corrections website doesn't allow it. Instead, go to this page: http://www.dc.state.fl.us/appcommon/searchall.asp?Action=Find Enter "Kimball" into the "Last Name" field Hit the "Submit Request" button Click on the "Supervised Population Search Results" link Click on "Kimball, Bruce" Now you're looking at the information on Bruce Kimball. Current location "Interstate Compact" means he's been relocated to another state. Supervision Type "Probation Felony" tells us that he's out on probation. And Supervision Begin Date of "11/24/1993" is when that probation started, as robertskelton-ga pointed out. There is a road safety video produced in 1991 about Kimball's DUI incident: http://www.cdc.gov/nasd/videos/v000201-v000300/v000242.html The original sentence was for 17 years, but the Florida Corrections page shows he's done in 2008, which would be a total of 20 years. Also, probation is usually part of the judge's original sentence (unlike parole, which is decided by a board after some amount of time has been served.) And all the accounts I found of the intial sentence say it was for "17 years in jail." That sounds like it might be possible that a deal was struck after the initial sentence, possibly in conjunction with the making of that PSA. 5 years in prison and 15 on probation instead of 17 in prison. Cheers, nauster-ga Google searches florida corrections "bruce kimball" "sentenced to"
