» Why do Catholics call the pope Holy Father and their priests father when Jesus told us not to use this title.?

Do you mean to tell me I can not call my father, father? Don't you ever get tired of asking this question? This has been asked many, many, many times I already have a copy and paste answer for it. Jesus is saying that there is only one Father, One Creator, and all fatherhood comes from Him. "For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named." (Ephesians 3:14-15) We are all members of God's family. We call Him "Our Father." What does Paul say about this? "As you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children." (1 Thessalonians 2:11) "I do not write these things to shame you, but as my ...... - 2008-12-20

I am in need of a Japanese langauge pack for VB3 and almost started one from scratch today. Then I thought perhaps I should find out if anyone else has created one or would consider collaborating to create one. So, anyone else up for a Japanese langauge pack or know of one? It's something I could do with for my boards. However, I have worse Japanese skills than a gurgling infant and sadly most of my active posters are the same... sorry. :(I am in need of a Japanese langauge pack for VB3 and almost started one from scratch today. » Playstation 3? Full HD? ?

on some hd tv's, is it possible to reach full 1080p using the PS3? Does the PS3 put out 1080p via the 'HDMI' cable? Yes, the Playstation 3 supports full HD (1080p) and the only way to get 1080p is through an HDMI cable. Also be sure that you have an HDTV that can support 1080p otherwise you wouldn't get the HD picture anyway. Each PS3 game doesn't have 1080p capabilities. For that you just have to look on the back cover of the game to see what quality it displays in, but 1080p is the best possible.I think it gets 1080i. Idk what the diffrence is. You can figure that out.on the bac of the game case it say what outputs it has most are 1080i but some are 1080p...... - 2008-12-20

» Emergency Room test of patients reporting out-of-body, near-death experiences?

I've heard from a friend of a hospital emergency room that is doing or has done a test of patients who claimed to have had an out-of-body, near-death experience while in this hospital's ER. The patient reporting the experience is asked upon regaining "normal" consciousness, what an electric sign said. The sign is positioned in way such that the patient cannot view it from the treatment table, and can be viewed only from up near the ceiling. The sign is given a randomly selected message for each patient treated. My friend says that some (many?) patients reporting an out-of-body experience are able to state the message accurately. I'm skeptical, but interested. Where is this ER, and where can I read reports of this study?...... - 2008-12-20

Twenty students randomly assigned to an experimental group receive an instructional program; 30 in a control group do not. After 6 months, both groups are tested on their knowledge. The experimental group has a mean of 38 on the test (with an estimated population standard deviation of 3); the control group has a mean of 35 (with an estimated population standard deviation of 5). Using the .05 level, what should the experimenter conclude? (a) Use the steps of hypothesis testing, (b) sketch the distributions involved, and (c) explain your answer to someone who is familiar with the t test for a single sample, but not with the t test for independent means The formula for a t-test is: The difference between the absolute values of the two g...... - 2008-12-20

Which one is most safest to do Ouija board or have a Seance99% of inexperienced people do not know the difference between a "white" Ouija and a "black" Ouija board. a "white" board is white on the background and black in the lettering, a "black" board is the opposite. a white board is safer than a black one, because the control of the spirit is different.always close your session on the Ouija board with 7 figure eights. just some advice!Safest way to contact the departed is through a medium who knows how to control such entities safely. They have the experience and were born with natural abilities to help people connect. » Japanese term / title used for monk, minister, or nun?

Hi everybody! I have been reading an interesting thread over at the Budhist Forum on titles for monk, etc. http://www.lioncity.net/buddhism/index.php?showtopic=35137&hl= I have heard the term Obousan, but I had never heard the term Oterasan. Are both terms common? In English we use the terms Minister and Monk to distinguish Christian clergy who live in society vs. someone who isolates themself from society. (However, when referring to Buddhist clergy it is common to call everyone a Monk, it seems....) My question is, in Japanese, is there any vocabulary to distinguish a "Monk" (outside of society) from a Minister (inside society)?I have heard the term Obousan, but I had never heard the term Oterasan. » Cutting 2 mm (5/64") strips on TS

Good day The title is "2 mm" (5/64") because I tested it by cutting 2mm strips but, it can be any thickness of strips....even less... So...the sled is an 3/4" Melamine board 36" long and 8" wide but, you choose yours. I drilled 3/8" "Vacuum holes" but first I drilled 1/4" as a pilot hole (easier to control the drill) and than went with the 3/8" drill bit to the end of the drill length I drilled the holes at 4" intervals but I think that the more holes, the better (say, every 2½"~3") even though, I did not have any problems with the vacuum pressure. I drilled 3/4" hole dia at the "end of the drill line" The "Box" can be made of anything...I made it from pieces of chip-board and Melamine (that's what I found in the attic) ...... - 2008-12-20

» If a plane crashes in the middle of the ocean...?

what happens? what kind of signal does it send out? a.k.a, how realistic is the show "Lost?" Could it ever take more than two days for people stranded on an island to be rescued in today's time?If the aircraft remained intact sufficient that a number of passengers were uninjured (very, very unlikely), its emergency transponders certainly would survive the crash too, and would immediately send distress signals via satellite. Said signals would pinpoint the crash site, and it would take a couple days at most, in good weather, for emergency personnel to arrive. In bad weather, it could take several days for rescue to be effected. You have to remember that there are parts of the oceans near the poles where weather conditions are seldom ...... - 2008-12-20

Background - I am devolping a portal site to deliver dynamic text content via SMS. Such as news,weather,horoscopes,etc.... I assume - that if I am charging people to have access to content - I need to pay a license/royalty to the author of the content. There are a handful of websites on the net that have this service - and you usually pay a monthly fee to have "access" to "premium" content. My Question: What internet based companies provide "premium" content for SMS - where I can pay a license fee (or no fee) to redistribute the data/content by SMS for a fee to my end users? And/Or, are there content sites that will allow their content to be distributed so long as you mention the authors name? I need about 5 sources/links. ...... - 2008-12-20

» Backdrop Alternatives?

Hey all, I'm looking to begin shooting portraits/headshots in a studio space and was wondering what some cheap alternatives were to buying an expensive "photography backdrop branded" product. Right now I'm considering a black and white background, so would a thick, unshiney cloth from, say, a local fabric store work? I've also read that a white sheet of paper would do, though I wouldn't think paper would be as practical in terms of storage and cleaning. Any ideas?A lot of people are using muslin backdrops from local fabric stores. Not knowing where you are from, I cannot make any suggestions more precise than that. Good luck!you should talk to him about it...but make sure you do it in a nice manner...but be careful and don't let him fool you if he has lost interest. because maybe he's just using you for a christmas gift..maybe he is just give him some space stop trying to hug him all the time or else hell hate you ha ha who doesn't how old are you?Its been that long and he hasn't e...... - 2008-12-20

» Snow Fall

So its pretty much the first real snowfall this winter here. What settings would I use to take a Photo with the snowflakes falling in focous? heres an example: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c109/christian_hapgood/img_0983-parking-night-snowfall.jpgWell you can start by not using your flash the camera focused on the distant area of the picture and used a wide open aperture so the pic had a very narrow depth of field so using natural light with a narrow aperture would help. But I have to say having had almost no snow here in PA and no acumulating snow at all this year I really appreciated the photo I love to see a heavier snow like that at night with street lights. Thanks, that isnt my photo though haha.Snowfall is very difficult to photo...... - 2008-12-20

» Photo dimensions?

What dimensions do you usually crop in? I have mostly 4x6 because I just print pictures of my kids, but for posting here, especially if one is not planning on actually printing the shot, what dimensions do most people use? Or is there a standard? Thanks.Whatever doesn't destroy the composition.I don't crop unless I think I need to. In other words, when I process my photos, I generally leave the dimensions as-is and don't worry about cropping unless I decide to print, and then I fiddle with it. The only recent exceptions have been photos of fireworks where I cropped out some nearby buildings and zoomed in on the actual fireworks.I have a 30x6 photo here :) Simply plan your composition and the format makes no difference. My allergies are so bad, zertec makes me tired, clariton doesnt help, and neither does alavert. I try to stay away from nasal spray. Suggestions?I have a friend who is a commercial pilot and flight instructor, he has bad allergies, but he is not able to take any medication on days when he has to fly. What he does is to get locally produced honey from local beekeepers. Locally produced honey has local pollen in it (not the blended stuff that is made of different honeys from all over the country.) He takes a couple spoons each morning and says it helps him build up some immunity to the pollen. Ask for unfiltered honey, that has not had the pollen removed from it. i used to know but i forgotCut off the top then cut it in half. Take each half and half it again. Then just remove that middle hard part by cutting sort of a v and then remove the skin. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/410687/how... here is a video on how to cut a pineapple start with a knife.Cut off the top and bottom. Stand it up on the chopping board and use a sharp knife to take off the skin by cutting straight down all the way around. You need to take off a thick enough layer of skin to remove most of the "pits". If you have a corer, take out the core from the centre and then slice the pineapple into rings. Otherwise, cut the pineapple vertically, leaving the core standing in the middle. Now cut the big slices of pineapple into bi...... - 2008-12-20

» Homesite battery enclosure gravity vent for hydrogen gas

I have read at http://www.zomeworks.com/tech/H2/H2vent.html described under 'The Diffusion H2 Vent' that high density fibreboard will vent H2 from an enclosure by gravity while blocking airflow. I want to test the ability of fibreboard to pass H2 and design my own indoor battery enclosure. It is important to block air flow to maintain the thermal mass of the battery. I want to use my enclosure indoors and use fibreboard (or some other cheap material) as an 'open gravity vent' for the H2. The battery box will be in a room which has a second fibreboard gravity vent in the ceiling to outside or upstairs where the concentration of H2 is not an issue. 1. Associated Press examines drug disposal practices of hospitals, long-term care facilities Hospitals, hospices and nursing homes dump at least 250 million pounds of unused medications and contaminated packaging into the U.S. drinking water supply each year, according to an ongoing Associated Press investigation, the AP/San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Associated Press based the estimate on a small sample, as few of the 5,700 hospitals and 45,000 long-term care facilities maintain records on the amount of unused medications of which they dispose. According to the AP/Chronicle, the medications "are expired, spoiled, over-prescribed or unneeded." And others "are simply unused because patients refuse to take them, can't tolerate them...... - 2008-12-20

That said I ultimately lost my interest in John Lennon after he hooked up with Oko. In my opinion his music went right down hill after that so I'll stick with Jesus! Paul Williams size will give anyone problems but I think Mayweather even tho smaller is still too slick and defensive. The punisher misses too much with his lanky shots. 2. Margarito is pure attack and constant pressure. Mayweather will make him miss a lot and look like a fool at times but Margarito is really good at getting in shots even at close range with his pressure. Free Programming Books A single book at the right time can change our views dramatically, give a quantum boost to our knowledge, help us construct a whole new outlook on the world and our life. Isn't it odd that we don't seek those experiences more systematically? Steve Leveen, The Little Guide to Your Well-Read Life, Levenger Press, 2005, p. 11 C/C++ An Introduction to C++ Programming C++ is a programming language substantially different from C. Many see C++ as "a better C than C," or as C with some add-ons. I believe that to be wrong, and I intend to teach C++ in a way that makes use of what the language can offer. C++ shares the same low level constructs as C, however, and I will assume some knowledge of C in this course. You...... - 2008-12-20

» Roma, Lazio sign up for Intertoto

Roma and Lazio have both announced their intention to participate in this summer's Intertoto Cup, should they qualify. Roma is currently in position to qualify directly for the UEFA Cup, but they are apparently taking no chances. Lazio, on the other hand, seems unlikely to qualify for Europe via any other path. I haven't seen news of any other Serie A teams signing up for it. Most clubs - particularly smaller ones who might face a relegation battle during the season - dislike the idea of starting their season in July. The last Italian team to participate was Perugia in 2003. They succeeded in advancing to the UEFA Cup (and did quite well in that), but at the end of the Serie A season, they were relegated. Last summer, no Italian teams ...... - 2008-12-20

Advertising has become very clever over the last Century. Advertisers spend 100s of billions of dollars a year worldwide encouraging, persuading and manipulating people into a consumer lifestyle that has devastating consequences for the environment through its extravagance and wastefulness. Children are particularly vulnerable to this sort of manipulation. What's more is it can really get in your head and just take over pshycologically Unfortunately, most people are not independent thinkers. Here is a place of discrepancies. If you'd like to discuss what the public knows versus what only a few people find out about, let's do it here. People see manga everywhere. Pachinko. What else is everywhere? This is what I consider mass education. What do people spend most of their positive energy doing? This is learning. I'm curious to know what the majority of Japanese people learn. Where and how do they learn their place in society? How does a girl figure that long boots and a short skirt with a white winter coat is in style, therefor something she must have, or that it is something socially acceptable? In Canada, this would be considered drag if a young woman was dressed in this way, because it is such a stereotype of how women shou...... - 2008-12-20

» How many megapixels = 35mm film?

What's the comparison in megapixels to film? I'm looking at buying a 30D and want an indication of how sharp it is compared to a 35mm film camera. Would 35mm film be 8.2 megapixels like the 30D is? Next question is, how big can you blow up an 8.2 megapixel image before you start seeing grain? Like, what's an acceptable amount of blowing up? I'm just after an indication and a general idea. I'm new to the digital world and any help with these questions would be appreciated. -FrankieIt's not really possible to compare them easily. Why? Well, film enlarged using traditional methods is a chemical process which yields very subtle results. Epidemiology of Crimean–Congo haemorrhagic fever virus: Turkey, Russian Federation, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Kosovo 11 August 2008 Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a zoonosis transmitted by ticks that cause severe outbreaks in humans. CCHF intensified activity and outbreaks constitute a threat to public health services because of its high case fatality ratio (10-40%), its potential for nosocomial transmission, and the difficulties in case management and prevention requiring a sustained multi-sectoral approach. Hi everyone...I'm the proud owner of a Pentax K100D. I'm still learning the "ropes". I photographed two recent events with the same settings and got very different results. My setting was: ISO 3200, "moving object mode", and no flash. In the first instance, I was close to the stage. My dancers were blurry and very whited out. In the second instance, I was in a balcony, far from the stage, but my dancers were clear. Does anyone have any insight to my problem?
